Slime Laboratory
Slime Laboratory is a platformer about a soft green blob escaping a hazardous facility. It stretches, squashes and jumps through dangerous rooms, avoids sharp spikes and can collect hidden floppy disks on the way.
What happens on screen
You play the slime, not a character holding a weapon. The lab is split into rooms, and each room is a small obstacle course between you and the exit.
The slime is soft. It stretches when it moves and squashes when it lands, and that springiness is part of how it feels to steer. Spikes are the main danger: touch them and the room starts again.
Some rooms hide floppy disks. They are optional, so you can run straight for the door or take the longer route to collect them. Poki also lists Slime Laboratory 2 and 3 from the same developer, if you finish this one and want more.
Buttons and keys
Worth trying in the first ten minutes
-
Watch the whole room for a second before moving. Most spikes are easy to avoid once you know where they are.
-
Use the down arrow to drop through a platform instead of walking off the edge; you land where you intended.
-
Leave the floppy disks for a second visit to a room. Finding the exit first makes the detour easier.
-
Short taps on the arrows give you more control than holding them, especially next to spikes.
Good match for
Anyone who likes short platform rooms with a clear goal, including younger players who want something without combat.
Weigh this first
-
Rooms restart when you touch spikes, which can feel repetitive on a tricky one.
-
Precise jumps are harder with touch controls than with a keyboard.
